Behind the scenes

Vale Da Rosa

Under the blue skies of Portugal, you’ll find the Alentejo region and the vineyards of our grape grower, Vale da Rosa. In summer, Alentejo can reach a whopping 45⁰ which is perfect for us as our grapes love to sunbathe all day – it makes them brightly coloured and very sweet.

Vale da Rosa have twelve different types of grapes – they grow both seeded and seedless varieties but they only supply us with seedless (we strongly feel you should be able to eat a whole bunch of grapes without worrying about getting seeds stuck between your teeth).

Vale da Rosa are the largest producers of table grapes in Portugal and one of the biggest employers in the region. Even the Portuguese Minister of Agriculture occasionally pops around to have his dinner above the grape vines. We bet the wine is pretty good too!
